Dr. Tyler’s Receptionist
Richelle has been a receptionist with our practice since 2002 and is currently the manager of our front-end operations. Richelle has an amazing ability to organize scheduling and patient care to achieve the best for patients and efficiency in the day-to-day operations of our practice. There are few questions she can’t answer and hardly a difficult situation she can’t manage. Richelle specializes in organizing the complex implant, surgical and full mouth reconstruction cases for Dr. Bill. We were fortunate to have Richelle volunteer with us on 2 of our dental mission trips, one to Thailand and one to Africa — she was most valuable in helping us maximize our efficiency in treating as many very needy people as we possibly could.
Niki is an experienced member of the reception team. After taking a few years off to be with her young family, we feel lucky to have her back.
Andra is the treatment coordinator for Tyler Dental Artz. This position has many roles and Andra embraces them all with her typical enthusiasm and commitment to excellence. She is often the person who introduces someone new to our office and guides you through the new patient experience. She can also be the liaison between a patient and the clinical operations, particularly when comprehensive treatments are considered. She will take the time necessary to consult with patients so that options are understood, financial arrangements are in place and all steps are taken before treatments commence. Ask Andra a question in German – relearning that language is her current after-hours project.
ACCOUNTS AND RECEPTION
Natasha is part of our administrative team, specifically our patient account manager and statistician. She does a great job at making sure we are all working efficiently for the best care of our patients. Along with our receptionists and treatment coordinator, she is there to help our patients understand their dental plans and help them receive their maximum benefits. Natasha’s experience as a former receptionist and accounts manager makes her the perfect person for this valuable position. Like many of us at Tyler Dental Artz, Natasha is a dog lover - ask her about her Blue Healer or Border Collie.
Ruth has been a dental hygienist with us since 1994. She is very experienced and competent, and her French accent and infectious laugh always put smiles on our faces. Her dedication to the profession of dental hygiene and motivation to always continue her education has allowed us to always provide state-of-the-art hygiene care. Ruth volunteered her time and skills on 1 of our dental mission trips to Thailand. The care and education that she gave the underprivileged people she treated were most valuable and much appreciated.
Jacquelyn is a full-time dental hygienist who not only has exceptional skills as a hygienist but has a certified dental assisting (CDA) background that is valuable in understanding total care and treatment. Her caring and gentle manner is sure to guarantee a positive experience while patients receive comprehensive periodontal attention.
CERTIFIED DENTAL ASSISTANT
Brenda has been an important member of our team since 2005. She is a very skilled and caring CDA on Dr. Bill’s team who excels in assisting with complex surgical and implant procedures. Her knowledge, attention to detail and comforting manner give our patients confidence and security in all situations. Brenda can always be counted upon to go that extra mile for the entire team, as well as our patients. She has also been valuable in helping organize supplies for our dental mission trips, and we were fortunate to have her join us for 1 of our mission trips to Thailand.
Nicole is a certified dental assistant working with Dr. Smillie. She graduated with an award for clinical excellence and this high standard is obvious in her daily attention to detail and efficiency. Nicole has continued her education with training in oral sedation and dental implants and over the years has had much experience working with oral sedations and children. Patient care and comfort are her priorities and so young and old patients are put at ease in her care Apart from her professional life, Nicole enjoys skiing and trail running and spending time with her daughters.
Maria was born and raised near Barcelona, Spain. She moved to Canada in 1996 and attained her dental assisting qualifications in 2005. She has been with Dr. Smillie’s team since 2017. Maria’s years of experience make her a great asset to the team, and her calm and soft-spoken manner helps to put patients at ease. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, bike riding and enjoying the beautiful places BC has to offer.
We were fortunate to add Amanda to our team in 2023. Her calm personality allows her to easily handle any situation, and she has years of experience with sedation and surgical procedures. She has completed the Dental Assistant Anaesthesia Course, which qualifies her to be part of a team that administers advanced sedation techniques.
Terry manages our business accounts and has been with us since 2005. Her competent and efficient behind-the-scenes bookkeeping skills have allowed the rest of us to concentrate on providing quality dental care. Terry has contributed many volunteer hours on behalf of cancer, and countless people have benefited from her dedication to that worthy cause.
